nine cast bronze tide vessels
These floating vessels were designed as a competition entry for a public artwork in Norway to commemorate the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.
The hollow vessels float at high tide but remain supported above the water at low tide, creating an awareness of tide movement, nature and time. At low tide the vessels contain water at a level above the "natural" level and overall the work is designed to evoke the sacred. The vertical supports echo fishing structures common in Asia.
