This work involved a concern with the overlap between photography, single point perspective and cartography. The attitude of the camera to space was an important factor and a large format view camera was used to photograph an imaginary grid on a line of latitude in Sydney Harbour over a period of one year.
The grid (seen opposite) was photographed from various points around the harbour and drawn onto (into) the photographs. The finished works are composite images which reflect the shape of the grid from various view points, a sense of time through the use of multiple images and the geometry used in the construction of the work
